A strong network
Research data are the foundation of responsible science, innovation, and informed societal action. The GFBio association is located in the science region Bremen -Oldenburg and part of a strong network of regional data initiatives. The interactive infographic "Northwest Data Space" allows to explore our network!
Together, these data initiatives create reliable structures for sustainable research data management, secure data access, and cross-institutional collaboration in accordance with the FAIR principles.
Our partners in Northern Germany
The German Federation for Biological Data maintains multiple and interdisciplinary regional relations:
- The University of Bremen, the University of Bremen Research Alliance, the Leibniz Institute ZMT and the Alfred Wegener Institute are members of our association and support our mission to promote biological data in Germany.
- The data publisher PANGAEA is the largest data centre within GFBio and a key partner for the distributed, networked archiving of research data via the GFBio submission service.
- We collaborate with the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Qualiservice as part of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and work with our respective NFDI consortia to advance interdisciplinary issues relating to research data management.
- We are affiliated with the Data Science Centre and the Northern Data Competence Centre through our efforts to teach data-related knowledge and skills. GFBio is involved in the Data Train programme and facilitates local cooperation with the WiNoDa Data Competence Centre.
About the Data Space
